about

After a great year releasing tracks from the likes of Pig & Dan, Max Cooper and Ryan Davis among so many others, Colin John, A&R and remix producer for Techno Therapy Records brings to light a new collection of melodic techno tracks.

While John's continued love for melodic techno dominates his sound, the new EP explores the notions of the world wide financial melt down which bombarded western news headlines at the time of the E.P's creation. The title of the EP, 1984, is named after the famous George Orwell science fiction book which explores totalitarian governments and a world where freedom of speech is no longer acceptable.

The title track 'Revolution' brings forth the dark story of a famous newscaster who speaks of the current global situation, sombre but realistic words contrasted with a dark evil bass line sends a mysterious message of current times.

The second track 'Solstice' documents the longest day when the sun and the moon share the London skyline together, not a usual occurrence, maybe something of a mystery.

The final track 'Missing You' is a dedication to all friends and family of past generations. The groove is dissonant and sad at times but swings upbeat and driving towards the end.

The three tracks are warm and expressive with some deeper grooves for the winter.
